Our management team is comprised of a diverse group of individuals from the United States, Canada and Panama. They bring with them wide ranging business and academic backgrounds in the medical cannabis industry as well as other directly related fields, such as agronomy, healthcare (including GMP / ISO manufacturing), biotech, politics, fishery / forestry management and energy.
During his 40 plus years as an entrepreneur, Mr. Wood has founded numerous wide-ranging private companies including a commercial and residential development company, an oilfield leasing and manpower service company in Papua New Guinea, an oil and gas exploration company, and an automotive leasing company. Most notably, he founded High Arctic Energy Services, LLP, a publicly listed international oilfield drilling and service company and within that tenure he was awarded two patents for oilfield drilling equipment and was nominated for the 2006 Ernst Young Alberta Entrepreneur of the Year. Mr. Wood has served on the board of directors for eight publicly traded companies, including Petroleum Service Association of Canada Ltd., Questerre Energy Inc. and Gamehost Inc.
Mr. Wood started his career in the oil industry where he achieved several successes including programming and drilling the industry’s first fully underbalanced horizontal well, which led to the development of novel horizontal drilling and other technologies commonly used for stage fracking today.
Jed is currently a Director or Managing Director for numerous private companies including a private equity firm specializing in corporate restructuring and venture start-up capital. Since 2010 he has financed and provided operating support for numerous U.S. and Canadian commercial property development, oil and gas and biotech companies. Jed is also an early-stage investor in several medical cannabis (CBD and THC) research and development companies.
Mr. LaBerge is a seasoned finance, operations and business development professional with over 20 years of investment, renewable energy, agriculture, healthcare and medical cannabis experience. Jeff has a demonstrated track record of leading successful projects, especially in emerging and highly regulated industries as well as distressed situations.
Since 2018, Jeff served as the CEO and Co-Founder of Viaspace California, Inc., which was one of the first companies to legally plant hemp in California. Viaspace has cultivated over 200 acres of hemp in the Imperial Valley, CA and implemented a breeding program focused on developing CBD and CBG genetics optimized for the Southern California climate.
Before Viaspace, Mr. LaBerge provided operational and strategic advisory services relating to the development of three of the largest proton therapy treatment cancer centers in the US. He also was a lead developer and advisor for several biomass conversion, waste-to-energy and other similar project opportunities in the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean.
